Eccentric butterfly valves have requirements for flow direction, and the reverse installation of eccentric butterfly valves will affect the sealing. The flow direction of double eccentric butterfly valves is from the back of the valve plate to the front.

There are two flow directions of triple eccentric butterfly valves, forward and reverse. Flowing in from the back of the valve plate and out from the front is forward. The forward sealing is good, and the higher the pressure, the better the sealing. The reverse sealing also has some sealing, but the higher the pressure, the worse the sealing.

The butterfly plate of the triple eccentric sanitary butterfly valve is on the low-pressure side, and the shaft is on the high-pressure side. In this way, the valve is closed by "differential pressure". This is the best sealing flow direction of the triple eccentric; the reverse sealing is also theoretically possible.
