Sanitary pipe fittings are used for pipe fittings with a relatively high level of hygiene, and the main material is stainless steel. Although it is stainless steel, stainless steel can also rust. Since it is a sanitary pipe fitting, if it rusts, it can no longer be used as a sanitary pipe, so when using it, you must prevent the rust of sanitary pipe fittings. Here are some effective ways to prevent sanitary pipe fittings from rusting.

1. Do not contact other metals

Sanitary pipe fittings will rust due to the attachment of dissimilar metals, such as screws for fixing. It may not be very serious at the beginning. You can use sea surface or cloth and neutral detergent to wipe it, which is also very easy to clear the rust. After cleaning, be sure not to let the cleaning solution remain on it.

If you don't pay attention at the beginning, it will show a serious rust state of brown in the later stage. If it comes to this situation, you can use some stainless steel cleaning liquid or 15% concentration of nitric acid to dilute it for removal. Of course, there may be very stubborn rust, which can be ground and wiped with a stainless steel brush, and finally cleaned with cleaning liquid.

2. Sanitary pipe fittings are affected by gas and rust

In some factories or in environments with heavy street traffic, the surface of stainless steel is easily contaminated, and sometimes small spots of rust appear. Most of these conditions are caused by the gas discharged by cars and air conditioners. When the pollution is slight, it can be cleaned with a neutral detergent or soapy water, but it cannot be simply handled when it is serious. If it is used for a long time in such an environment, it is necessary to clean the sanitary pipe fittings regularly.

3. Environmental impact

Stainless steel will also produce red rust in a short period of time in coastal areas where it is directly hit by sea breeze. And it will rust faster than in other areas. If these problems cannot be avoided, 316 stainless steel with slightly stronger corrosion resistance can be used, and regular cleaning work must be done.

4.Sanitary Valve rust caused by attached cleaning solution

If it cannot be cleaned with a neutral detergent, use a cleaning solution to remove it.

5. Rusting of sanitary pipes caused by hand dirt or fingerprints

If neutral detergent cannot be used to clean it, use a sponge, cloth, etc. dipped in an organic solvent (alcohol, light oil, acetone, etc.) to wipe it. If this method still cannot completely remove it, use stainless steel cleaning liquid to clean it. In short, after cleaning with various cleaning methods, you must rinse it with clean water again.
